Compact Disk with "The Far Side of the Moon: A Photographic Guide" by Charles J. Byrne
This CD, together with the CD in its companion volume
“Lunar Orbiter Photographic Atlas of the Near Side of the
Moon” contains all the Lunar Orbiter photos that were selected
for “Lunar Orbiter Photographic Atlas of the Moon” by
Bowker and Hughes, NASA SP-206, US Government Printing Office, 1971.
Files in this CD include all the Lunar Orbiter photos from Lunar
Orbiter missions 1, 2, 3, and 5 from Bowker and Hughes, as well as the
subset of photos from Lunar Orbiter 4 that were used in this book.
These Lunar Orbiter 4 photos were also provided in the near side book.
In addition, this CD includes all of the photos and mosaics from
Clementine, Apollo 16, Luna 3, Nozomi, and Zond 3 that are used as base
images in this book.
The photos are provided as JPEG (.jpg) files. Separate folders are
provided for Lunar Orbiter medium-resolution frames, high-resolution
subframes, and for each of the other spacecraft. This CD is designed to
be used in conjunction with the annotated images in the book, so these
photos are unmarked, making all of the photographic detail available.
